Hazel L. Brack



Hazel L. Brack, of Brookville, died Sunday, June 21, at Brookville Healthcare Center. She was 79 years old.

She was born to Walton and Veola (Allen) O'Neal on September 19, 1918, in Dearborn County. She was a graduate of Springfield High School and a member of Delta Theta Tau Sorority and Brookville United Methodist Church. She became the wife of Russell J, Brack on January 1, 1939 at the Christian Church of Brookville.

Survivors lnclude her husband, Russell J. Brack of Brookville; one daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Sheldon Strothman of Brookville; one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Jane Brack of Corona, California; one daughter-in-law, Meredith Brack Kruetzkamp of Liberty; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Edith Bohlander of Sandusky, Ohio, Irene Aulbach of Brookville and Betty Brack of Connersville; and one brother, Robert O'Neal of Brookville.

Preceding Mrs. Brack in death were her parents; one son, Robert Brack; and two brothers, Chester and Hubert O'Neal.

The funeral service begins at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 25, at Cook Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald Miller, of the Brookville United Methodist Church, will officiate. She will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, between the hours of 4 and 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to afavorite charity.





Mark Moeller



Mark P. Moeller, age 42 of Hamburg died Monday, June 22 at his residcnce. Born August 11, 1995, in Batesville, he was the son of Edward and Frances (Pulskamp) Moeller. He had been a truck driver with Columbus Transport Company of Columbus, Indiana, and was a member of the St. Anne's Catholic Church of Hamburg.

Survivors include his parents, Edward and Coletta Moeller Of Oldenburg; three sisters, Jane Moeller of Shelbyville, Patricia Long of Stout, Ohio, and Jacqueline Moorman of Hebron, Kentucky; one brother, Donald Moeller of Las Vegas, Nevada; two step-sisters, Judith Leising of Indianapolis and Sandra Gutzwiller of Batesville; three step-brothers, Ronald Leising of Carmel, William Leising of Oldenburg and Thomas Leising Of Hamburg; one niece, one nephew and numerous step-nieces and nephews.

Besides his mother, Frances, he was preceded in death by one sister, Rose Anne Moeller, and one step-brother, David Leising.

Visitation will be held from 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 25, at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 25, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Hamburg with Father Jonathan Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Batesville Rescue 10 Lifesquad or to the Leukemia Society of America.





Ruth Mae Locke



Ruth Mae Locke, of Cedar Grove, died at Reid Memorial Hospital, Richmond, on Tuesday, June 16. She was 56 years old and lived most of her life in Harrison, Ohio and Cedar Grove.

She was born March 27, 1942, in Elizabethtown, Ohio. She and James Locke were united in marriage on June 6, 1981 Mrs. Locke had been employed at Sperry Rubber and Plastics in Brookville. She was a member of Holy Guardian Angel Catholic Church, Cedar Grove, and the American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband; her mother , Carrie Winter of Brookville; one brother, Charles Bowman of Dora, Alabama; and several neices and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Steelman; and one sister.

The funeral service, conducted by the Rev. Louis Manna, was held Saturday, June 20, at Holy Guardian Angel Church, with burial following in the church cemetery. Phillips and Meyers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions are being accepted by Franklin County E.M.S. 4 and Holy Guardian Angel Catholic Church.





Owen M. Currence



Owen M. Currence, 94 years old, died at his home in Batesville, on Monday, June 22.

He was born on May 21, 1904, in Mill Creek, West Virginia, the son of Frederick and Emma (Vaughn) Currence. He married the former Eleanore Ford on March 31, 1926, in Granville, Ohio, and she survives. Mr. Currence was a retired truck driver and mechanic with Gulf Oil Company. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #668 of Batesville.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Peg Ankrum of Metamora; two sons, James Currence of Nokomis, Illinois and Richard Currence of Kansas City, Missouri; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

His family will hold a memorial service at their convenience. Weigel Funeral Home of Batesville is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Home Health Care of Margaret Mary Community Hospital.
