“Isaac HOLLISTER Jr., son of Isaac & Elizabeth (Newcomb) Hollister of Ulster Co., NY, he was born Jan. 21, 1781 died Sept.3, 1848.  Lived at Caroline Depot, Tompkins Co., NY. 
Married Ruth WINCHELL born Dutchess? County NY, 22 July, 1782 d. 1870 -  Her headstone has not been found in the Hollister burial plot.  Ruth Hollister was living 1860 age 70 yrs. at the time the census was taken on August 27th 1860.  Her daughters Emma and Jane were living with in same household, and a grandson, Newton Cooper.  Her age if born in 1782 should have been 78 yrs in 1860.  May be an error in census records or her birth year was 1789/90.  Ruth was the daughter of James E. & Mary (Ferguson) Winchell.
1850 Caroline Census: Ruth Hollister age 74 (making her birth year abt. 1776) Emma her dau was 34 yrs., making her birth year abt.1816, Jane her dau was 27 yrs, making her birth year abt. 1823.   In 1860 Caroline Census, Ruth is listed as 70 yrs old, 4 yrs younger than she was 10 years earlier (making her birth year, 1790), her dau., Emma is listed as 40 yrs old, only 7 yrs older than she was listed 10 yrs earlier, Jane is listed as being 37 yrs, making her age correct from the 1850 census.

Isaac's obit.  "Signs of the Times", Vol. XVI 15 Sept 1848 No. 18, p. 143 
"Died, At Mott's Corners, Tompkins county, N.Y., on Sunday the 3d instant, after an illness, of only a few days. Deacon Isaac Hollister, aged about 70 years. Dea. Hollister, was formerly from Olive, in Ulster county, but for many years past he has served as deacon in the Old School Baptist church at Mott's corners, which is at present under the pastoral charge of his son, Eld. Kinner Holister, but formerly of our late lamented brother Jewett".

Isaac Hollister's will: Will Aug. 31, 1848, Probate: Dec. 18, 1848: Died Sept. 1848: age 65 years. 
Wife Ruth; Sons: Kinner 2nd; Timothy; Justus  L.; Emma; Irene; Sally Ann; Kezia wf. of Samuel R. Cooper; Eliza wf. of Anson Conrad;  granddaughter Mandana Heath; dau. Julia wf. of Robert  H. Watkins; Ex. Kinner Hollister 2nd, Robert H. Walkins, Ruth Hollister; Wits. Peter Lounsbury, Cornelius Stillwell.

Their Children: Kezia, Kinner, Timothy, Nancy, Ruth, Charlotte, Julia, Emma, Mary, Levi, Jane, Sally

1.) Kezia HOLLISTER, daughter of Isaac & Ruth (Winchell) Hollister, b. Olive, Ulster Co., NY, 27 Oct. 1801; 
Married Nov. 1827 to Samuel R. COOPER, born Dec. 18, 1806, son of Charles & Betsey (North) Cooper, born in Ulster Co.  Farmer at Caroline Depot, Town of Caroline, NY.  Caroline Census, Tompkins Co., NY for 1850 lists, Samuel R. 44, Keziah 49, Martha 19, Mary E. 16, Isaac M. 12, Hestian 21; 1865 Caroline Census, Tompkins Co., NY, states Keziah was a mother of 4 children.  By 1880 they left Tompkins Co., and are found living in Bourbon, Douglas, Illinois.

a. Hestira Cooper, dau. of Samuel & Kezia Hollister Cooper, born March 29, 1829, married 1st James  MITTCHELL of Maryland, and 2d Dr. James WILSON - he was a miller and school   teacher,  lived in Owensville, Ind.; At least one son by James Mitchell, buried in Hollister cemetery as follows - Frank C.MITTCHELL, s/o James and Hester A. (COOPER) MITTCHELL, d. Jan. 10, 1858 ae 5y 1m 16d.  1880 Census, Owensville, Gibson, Indiana - Hestira Wilson age 51; Arthur Wilson age 14; George Taylor living in same household age 40; Nancy L. Taylor age 25; Henry M. Sumners age 25; Fanny Williams age 23.

b. Martha Cooper,  dau. of Samuel & Kezia Hollister Cooper, born August 22, 1831 in Caroline, NY, married  May 25th, 1862, in Danby, NY to Sherman BEARDSLEY Danby,  he was a farmer.  1880 Census records, Bourbon, Douglas, Illinois - Sherman Beardsley age 42, born NY, parents both born CT; Martha age 48; Hattie age 17; Samuel age 14, with a Mr Hollister living in same household age 60, occupation - Ditcher.   Record is also found of a Hattie Beardsley who married MONTGOMERY, JAMES BEARDSLEY, HATTIE E 09/25/1883 (pg & lis. no. 1 /37) DOUGLAS Illinois.

c. Mary E. Cooper, dau. of Samuel & Kezia Hollister Cooper, born Dec. 12, 1834 in Caroline, married Aug. 5th 1863 to William E. VICKERS; 1862 - a school teacher, lives in Evansville, Ind.;

d. Newton J. or I.  Cooper, son of Samuel R. & Kezia (Cooper) Hollister, born Mar. 27, 1838, married August 11, 1863 to Mary Adelia GEERE, He was a farmer, Urbana, Ill.  LDS records state he married in Urbana Champaign, Illinois - List birth date for Newton J. Cooper as Mar. 31, 1838 died Nov. 18, 1915 - Mary Adelia Geer born Aug. 24, 1844 died Feb. 23, 1909, both are buried in Holland Cemetery, Moxee, Yakima, Washington.  1860 he was living with his grandmother, Ruth Hollister in the Town of Caroline, 
Tompkins Co., NY.

e. Isaac M. or N. COOPER , son of Samuel & Kezia Hollister Cooper, b. abt. 1838 (no other records has been found on him) I would wonder if this child was the same as Newton J. or I. Cooper and was also known as Isaac N. or Isaac Newton Cooper?”
