HAUBSTADT, Ind. — Justin V. Anslinger, age 96, of Haubstadt, passed Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at his home.

He was born July 16, 1912 to the late Anton and Mayme (Roeder) Anslinger in Haubstadt and resided there his lifetime. He graduated from Haubstadt High School in 1930. He retired from Hahn Inc. in Evansville.

Justin was a lifetime member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, a member of Knights of St. John Commandery #345 and National Muzzel Loading Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting, gunsmithing, woodworking and gardening. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Francis Anslinger.

Justin is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara; one daughter, Susan Anslinger of Evansville; three sons, John (Bonnie) Anslinger and Steve (Diane) Anslinger, all of Haubstadt, and Mike Anslinger of Scott Depot, West Virginia; four grandchildren, Susan and Kathleen Anslinger and Brittney and Brandon Luna; one great-grandchild, Maya Luna; two sisters; Marilyn Wilm of Haubstadt and Margery Emge of Evansville; and nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, with Fr. Tony Ernst officiating. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Wade Funeral Home with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Friends may also call from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday at Wade Funeral Home prior to the funeral Mass.
