WINSLOW, Ind. — Albert Charles "Ab" Meyer, 79, of Winslow, Ind., entered rest on Sunday March 1, 2009, at 8:22 p.m. at Memorial Hospital in Jasper, Ind.

He was born on July 10, 1929, in Huntingburg to George Herman and Laura M. (Poehlein) Meyer.

He was preceded in death by parents and brothers, George D., John W. and Lawrence B. Meyer.

He was a member of U.M.W.A. at Yankeetown Dock, also Army veteran and attended Arthur General Baptist Church. He enjoyed trains, camping, tractors, and drinking coffee at Trading Post and Southern Gospel Music.

Surviving family members are his wife, former Lois Jean (Sharp) Meyer, they where married on April 11, 1953; sons, Charles Mike (Roberta) Meyer of Stendal, Ind., Larry D.(Kay) Meyer of Winslow, Ind., and Eric J.(Leilani) Meyer of Winslow, Ind.; sister, Mildred V. Meyer Virden of Winslow; 6 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. CST Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel, with burial in Williams Cemetery near Oakland City, Ind., Rev. Terry Beadles will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. CST Wednesday and from 8 a.m. until services on Thursday at the chapel.
