FORT BRANCH, Ind. — Eunice I. Conklin, 82, of Fort Branch, Ind., passed away on Wednesday, Apr. 8, 2009, at the skilled nursing facility at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton, Ind. She was born on Sept. 13, 1926, in Owensville, Ind., to the late Virgil and Crisola (Taylor) Majors.

Eunice was a member of the Fort Branch First United Methodist Church. She was a past president of the VFW Women's Auxiliary. She was a Girl Scout leader and a pink lady at Gibson General Hospital.

Besides her parents, Eunice is preceded in death by her husband, J.W. (Junior) Conklin, who passed away on July 27, 1990, and a sister, Pauline Hallam.

She is survived by 2 children, Kenneth (Debbie) Conklin of Fort Branch, Ind., and Karen Kimpel of Albion, Ill.; 1 sister, Helen TenBarge of Haubstadt, Ind. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Eric and Scott Conklin, and Anna Kimpel. She also has 2 great-grandchildren, Allison Marie Conklin and Harrison Kenneth Conklin.

Services for Eunice will be on Saturday, Apr. 11, 2009, at 10 a.m. at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, Ind., the Reverend John Wendell will officiate, and burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch, Ind. Visitation will be on Friday, Apr. 10, 2009, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
