OAKLAND CITY — Mildred E. Corn, 92, of Oakland City, passed away Monday Aug. 17, 2009 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.

Born Feb. 17, 1917 in Glezen, she was the daughter of Everett and Irene (Loveless) Street.

She worked at Potter & Brumfield in Princeton for 25 years. She was a member of McCullough Grove Baptist Church in Oakland City.

Survivors include daughter, Donna (Jerry) Bruce of Oakland City; sons, Darrell “Butch” (Rena) Corn of Oakland City, Bobby Joe (Carol). Corn of Arvada, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Homer Corn on Nov. 6, 2000; son, Billy J. Corn; brothers, Morse and Buddy Street; sisters, Wilma “Pete” Williams and Barbara Street.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, 2009 at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City with the Rev. Kenneth Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Montgomery Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. until the service hour on Friday at the chapel.
