PRINCETON, Ind. — Estella G. “Pepper” Hurrell, 91, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2009 at The Waters of Princeton. She was born March 30, 1918 in Eau Claire, Michigan and resided in Princeton since 1975, coming from Michigan. She was retired, formerly working as a dental assistant and receptionist and worked for Dr. Rayes in his medical practice in Princeton. She was a member of Oasis Assembly of God in Princeton.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Audrene Cook of Hazleton and Carolyn Hauweghen of Phoenix, Arizona; 2 sons, Edgar Mercer of Pinson, Alabama and Gaiel Hurrell of Coloma, Michigan; a step-daughter, Doloras “Toots” Horton of Michigan; a special friend, Jerry Lutz of Fort Branch; 18 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death her parents, Arthur and Elsie (Smith) Wiest; husband, Sidney “Red” Hurrell in 2001; a daughter, Janet Wheeler; 2 brothers, Robert and Leo Wiest; 2 sisters, Millie Davis and Maxine “Snooks”; twin great-great grandsons, Aiden and Addison Peil.

Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Mike Marsh officiating. Visitation will be from 11 A.M. until 1 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Columbia “White” Church Cemetery, Princeton.
