PRINCETON, Ind. — Steven Eugene Lucas "Hurricane Lucas," 52, of Prince-ton, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at his residence.

He was born in Evansville on December 14, 1956, to Clarence and Charlene (Stone) Lucas, who preceded him in death.

He married Mary Reavis on May 9, 1992, in Evansville, and she survives him.

He retired as Head Operator at Whirlpool Corporation after 30 years and honorably served in the U.S. Navy. Steven was formerly a member of the local IBEW #808. Steve was known as "Hurricane Lucas" playing with several local blues bands and on Beale Street. Steve was also featured on a CD produced in Europe.

Also surviving are son, Jordan Samples of Henderson, Ky.; daughters, Lori (Patrick) Norrick of Owensville, Ind., Jennifer Lucas of Calif., Karen Lucas of Marion, Ill., and Lyndsay (Eric) Hamilton of Princeton, Ind.; and grandchildren, Audrianna Samples of Henderson, Ky., and Blake Bochner of Marion, Ill.

Also preceding him was his stepfather, Arthur Wainman.

Services 11 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2009, at Doyle Funeral Home, located at 520 S. Main St., Princeton, Ind., with the Rev. Ron Fellows officiating. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery in Princeton, Ind., with V.F.W. Post 1147 performing military honors.

Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today, June 12, 2009.
