Evelyn Virginia (Schnarr) Rutledge was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday May 25, 2009, her husband's birthday.

Evelyn was born January 5, 1919, in Evansville, Ind., to Joseph Adam and Betty Mariah Harpe Schnarr. Evelyn "Annie" (known to her by nieces and nephews and siblings) was proceeded in death by husband Edgar Ray Rutledge on June 30, 2008, on their 59th wedding anniversary and her first grandson, Jason Roger McCullough, September 6, 1989, and seven brothers and sisters, Margerite Smith, Helen Schnarr, Mary Harralson, Joe Schnarr, Myrle Schnarr, Richard "Dick" Schnarr and Wilma "Winks" Vaught.

She has one sister living, Clara Hazelip, who is 95 and resides in Evansville. Also surviving are her two daughters, Theresa "Terri" (Ron) Frantz and Joyce (Bobby) Wicks, both of Mackey, Ind.; grandsons, Zachary and Adam Frantz; and one great-granddaughter, Kyah Renee' Frantz.

God's angel to her family and friends here on earth and a true servant of God, her faith sustained her and brought hope to others. When you looked at her you always saw the face of Jesus. What peace she gave to so many and instilled in her family the values of honesty, forgiveness, trust, loyalty, and spiritual upbringing and beliefs but most of all love and nurturing to her family and friends. She was a member of Mackey Salem United Methodist Church and former member of the Berean Bible Church in Evansville, where she had many friends and brothers and sisters in Christ.

Funeral services will be 1:05 p.m. Friday May 29, 2009, at Mackey Salem United Methodist Church, with burial in Albright Cemetery near Mackey, Ind., the Rev. Matt Malin will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City, Ind., and 11 a.m. to services on Friday at the church.
