PRINCETON, Ind. — Anna Belle Walter, age 82 of Olathe KS passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at the Aberdeen Village Health Care Center in Olathe. She was born May 4, 1927 in Pueblo CO to Paul and Ida Belle (Largent) Gray. She had lived in Olathe since 2001, having formerly lived in Princeton, IN for several years from 1963 to 1975, when her husband Rev. William M. Walter accepted a pastoral position with the First Presbyterian Church. After leaving Princeton to serve a church in Plainfield, IN, she and her husband returned to Princeton in 1990 until 2001.

She was a housewife and a mother and had been a faithful pastor’s wife for many years. She was very active in the Women’s Association of the Church, sang in the Church Choir, served as a deacon and an elder and participated in many of the church activities. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and needlepoint. She had also been a member of the Garden Club in Princeton.

Anna Belle is survived by her husband of 62 years, Rev. Dr. William M. Walter, Olathe, whom she married Sept. 1, 1946, three sons and daughters-in-law: Jerry and Karen Walter of Olathe, Patrick and Annette Walter of Friendswood TX and Mark and Diane Walter of Princeton, a sister Molly Catherine Brubaker and her husband Leland of Swink, Co, 6 grandchildren: Bobby, Chris, Edward, David, Christi and Christopher Walter and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Richard Gray, and an infant son Philip Gray Walter.

Memorial services will be held 3 P.M. Sunday July 19, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church in Princeton, with the Dr. Eugene Gladney officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbia "White" Church Cemetery, Princeton. Visitation will be from 1 P.M. until service Sunday at the Church. Colvin Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Memorial services will also be held in Olathe, KS and LaJunta, CO.
