John Foster, 81, passed away on Wednesday September 2, 2009 at his home in Princeton, In. He was the owner/operator of Teen Town Roller Rink in the 1950s-1960s. He worked at International Harvester and then later he retired as a Foreman at Potter & Brumfield after 34 years. He also served in the US Merchant Marines. He was a former president and coach of the Little League, and he was active in the Babe Ruth concessions.

His memberships include; Prince Lodge #231 F&AM since 1954 (Past Master 50+yrs, Award of Gold in 2005 and Worshipful Master in 1968), Gibson County Past Masters Assoc., Princeton Council #71 R&SM since 1954, Masonic Lodge O.C. Chapter #122 R.A.M., Gibson County Shrine, Hadi Temple since 1954 (50 yr life member), Ancient Scottish Rite, Kentucky Colonel, Sword of Bunker Hill, Princeton Commandry #46 KT since 1954 (Knights Templar) then Oakland City #122, Evansville York Rite Chapter #12 council 23 Commandry #15-since 1995, American Legion (51 yrs) and the 40 & 8, Elks#634 (52 yrs), Indiana Order of Odd Fellows, Eagles #361, Grayville Moose #1960.

He was born on December 14, 1927 in Evansville, In. to Elwood & Maud (Pierce) Foster, both deceased. Also preceding him in death was his 3 brothers, Elwood, Jerry and Frank.

John is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kay Foster of Princeton; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Grant Lamar of Princeton; son & daughter-in-law, Gregory and Kristi Foster of Dania Beach, Fl; 2 grandchildren, Emily (Jason) Satterfield and Cory (Brittany) Fougnies all of Princeton; 2 great grandchildren, Shelby and Andy and 1 great grandchild on the way; brother, Bill Foster of Vincennes; and 2 sisters, Betty Lindy of Fairborn, Oh and Mary Alice Kimbrough of Richmond, In.

John has touched so many lives with his kind and gentle manner. He meant so much to all of his family and friends who loved him dearly and will miss him deeply.

Visitation will be on Sunday September 6, 2009 from 11 A.M. until 2 P.M. at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton. There will be a Masonic Service following visitation at 2 PM on Sunday. Private Family graveside service will be at a later date. VFW Post #1147 will provide full military rites at the graveside service.
