EVANSVILLE — Donald A. Onyett, 88, of Evansville, passed away Saturday Aug. 15, 2009 at CORE Nursing and Rehab in Evansville.

He was born on July 9, 1921 in Oakland City to Ralph and Sarah (Roberson) Onyett.

He was the owner/operator of Onyett Heating and Air Conditioning, serving Oakland City for 10 years and Princeton for 30 years. He also served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Donald was a member of the Oakland City Forsythe United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 467 Oakland City and of the American Legion Post 25-Princeton.

Donald is survived by his wife, Louise (Smith) Onyett of Evansville; son, Donald L. Onyett of Las Vegas, Nev.; a granddaughter and her husband, Karma and Rick McLaughlin; two sisters, Eunice Kell and Nancy Mosier; and his brother-in-law and wife, Charles and Charlotte Smith of Indianapolis.

 



He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Hazel Rubin, Florence Powers and Alice Robinson.

Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday Aug. 20, 2009 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City with Pastor Charles Gipson officiating. Burial will be at the Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
