PRINCETON, Ind. — Isabel Crecelius Kolb, age 93, passed away Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Judy Kolb in Princeton.

She was born Aug. 17, 1916, in Princeton to Edgar and Myrtle (Watkins) Crecelius. She had lived in Gibson County most of her life.

Isabel had worked for the A.S.C.S. office and had been a field representative for the U.S. Census Bureau. She was a member of the Union Bethel Presbyterian Church in rural Patoka, where she had been the organist for many years. She had been a life member the Patoka Order of Eastern Star, a life member of the Gibson General Hospital Auxiliary, member of the Democrat Women's Club, the Indiana Club, Corterie Club, and several bridge clubs.

Surviving Isabel are four sons, Dr. Phillip (Jane) Kolb of Boonville, James (Judy) Kolb of Princeton, Dr. Alan (Shirley) Kolb of Dallas, Oregon, and Dr. David (Marie) Kolb of Oakland City; thirteen grandchildren, Dr. Jeff Kolb, Cindy Johnson, Jenny Westrich, Steve Kolb, Kathi Meeks, Jim Kolb, Jackie Kolb, Jill Embree, Denae Pfeifer, Alicia Wilks, Kirsten Kolb, Brandt and Erik Kolb. She had 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Chester and Hazel Kolb; and cousins, Lavada Borders, Mary Katherine Phillips and Bonnie Adams.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, 2009, at the Colvin Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ralph Walters officiating. Burial will follow in the Decker Cemetery in rural Patoka. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Gibson General Hospital Auxiliary or to the Union Bethel Presbyterian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
