WINSLOW — William H. Mounts, 71, of Winslow and formerly of Huntingburg, passed away Monday, Sept. 7, 2009 at the I.U. Cancer Pavilion in Indianapolis.

He was born June 11, 1938 in Davenport, Iowa to Earl and Marie Mounts.

He married Sally Sloan on July 27, 1958. Mr. Mounts was retired from Adcraft, Inc. in Evansville and was the leader of The Midwest Cowboys band for 30 years.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Sally; four sons, Brent Mounts and Brad Mounts both of Winslow, Bobby Mounts of Evansville, Brian Mounts of Jasper; two daughters, Bonnie Leinenbach of Shoals, Becky Ferguson of Huntingburg; two sisters, Shirley Hickman and June Schwabb both of Lakeside, Calif.; six grandchildren, Doug Mounts of Otwell, S.R. Samantha Mounts of Coast Guard Academy-Cape May, NJ, Brian Leinenbach and Shelly Senninger both of Jasper, Annie and Sarah Ferguson of Huntingburg; three great-grandchildren, Chrissy Leinenbach of Evansville, Megan Senninger of Celestine and Kaden Woosley of Jasper.

 

He was preceded in death by his son, Billy Mounts in 2008.

A private graveside burial will be on Friday, Sept. 11, 2009.

There will be a celebration of life memorial service at the Patoka United Methodist Church in Patoka on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009.
