PRINCETON — Garland F. “Dick” Oliver Jr., 73, passed away Sunday Sept. 6, 2009 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton.

He was born Aug. 22, 1936 in Evansville. He lived in Princeton since 1995. He was as a truck driver and served in the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include his wife, Priscilla (Morrison) Oliver, three daughters, Debbie (Tony) Blandford of Owensboro, Ky., Wendy Meier of Evansville, Tammy Carpenter of Evansville; son, Richard (Ashli) Mayberry of Vincennes; three sisters, Dorthy (Fran) Miller of Lynnville, Pat (Roy) Horn of Newburgh, Ruby Bradberry of Caribou Maine; three brothers, Bob (Erma) Oliver of Martinez, Ga., Duke (Sue) Glisson of Evansville, Greg Glisson of Evansville; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Mike Oliver; mother, Frances (Keown) Glisson; father Garland F. Oliver Sr.; and a stepfather, Harvey Glisson Sr.

 

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday Sept. 10, 2009 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton. There will be no visitation. Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton is in charge of arrangements. VFW Post 1147 will provide military rites.
