PRINCETON - Gerald E. Banet, 92, of Princeton, passed away Saturday Oct. 10, 2009 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton.

He was born Oct. 10, 1917 in Princeton to Victor and Mary (Shirley) Banet.

He was a retired toolmaker for Hansen Corp. He lived in Princeton all of his life and was a lifelong member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church

Gerald is survived by three sons, Jerry (Lynda) Banet and Jim Banet both of Princeton, John (Vicki) Banet of Mt. Olympus; two daughters, Jane Ann (Bill) Slinker of Newburgh, Judy (Bret) Hyneman of Mt. Olympus; eight grandchildren, David and Kenny Slinker, Shawn Halbig, Victor Banet, Carrie Davis, LaShel Montgomery, Charlie Banet, Clint Hyneman; and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 64 years, Venetta I. Banet in 2004; infant daughter, Bernadette; brother, Richard Banet; and sister, Jeanette Groeger.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday Oct. 14, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton with Rev. Father Ronald Zgunda officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, where a rosary service will be prayed at 7 p.m.
