WINSLOW — Janette C. Nixon, 72, passed away Monday, Sept. 28, 2009 at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.

She was born Sept. 30, 1936 in Sioux City, Iowa and resided in the Winslow area since 1955. She retired from Fifth Third Bank in Evansville and was formerly employed at First Bank and Trust in Oakland City. She was a member of the Muren Church of God and was formerly the church treasurer. She also was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Winslow.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Robert M. Nixon of Winslow; three children, Cindy Lowery of West Liberty, Iowa, Les R. (Julie) Nixon of Winslow, Christine (Tim) Winkler of Philpot, Ky.; five grandchildren, five great- grandchildren; sister, JoAnne Fredlund of Temple, Texas ;and brother, David Willenborg of Omaha, Neb.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. (CDT) Saturday, at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with Pastor Clint Woolsey officiating. Burial will be at Blackfoot Cemetery in Pike County, near Coe.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. (CDT) Friday at the funeral home.
