Rosalie Cox, 99, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009 at Transcendent Healthcare of Owensville.

She was born Sept. 10, 1910, daughter of Gilbert and Dora (McSwane) Holder.

She and her husband, Arlie, owned and operated The Owensville Star-Echo for many years. She also was a proofreader for The San Antonio Express News.

She was a member of Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Owensville. She received her 75 year pin in March for being a member of Cynthiana Chapter 445 Order of Eastern Star and was Past Worthy Matron. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile, and a graduate of the Owensville High School class of 1929.

Surviving are a daughter, Carol Wildt of Princeton; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Craig Cox, Devona Shreve, Michael, Patrick and David Gilbert, Trixie Wildt; 12 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Cox.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, James W. Cox and a daughter Cynda (Cox) Gilbert.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville. Burial will in Stewartsville Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
