Steven C. Dill, 60, Mt. Carmel, Ill., died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009 at his daughter's home in Mt. Carmel.

He was born Sept. 19, 1949, in Wabash County, Ill., son of Elmer and Mary Ann (Dutton) Dill.

He was married in Henderson, Ky., on Feb. 4, 1997 to Charla Byrns.

He was employed at Snap-On Tools in Mt. Carmel for 36 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a lifetime member of the Mt. Carmel Veterans of Foreign wars. He enjoyed his family, music, bowling, spending time on the river and his special dog, Boston.

He is survived by his wife Charla; children Steven Matthew Dill of Mt. Carmel, Jennifer "Jenny" Marie Dill of Mt. Carmel, Mickey (Sara) Whittler of Olney, Ill., Michele "Shelly" (Kevin) Harms of Princeton, Leslie (Donald) Vititoe of Mt. Carmel, Jennifer Perry of Princeton; a sister, Linda Dill of Mt. Carmel; three brothers, Dave, John and Jeff Dill of Mt. Carmel; 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Geneva Shoultz, an infant sister and an infant daughter.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ingram Funeral Home in Allendale, Ill., with burial including full military rites at Friendsville Cemetery in rural Wabash County.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at Ingram Funeral Home in Allendale.
