Scot Allen Poe, 36, passed away on Tuesday November 24, 2009 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville. He graduated from Wood Memorial High School in 1991 and attended V.U. and Ivy Tech. He worked as an estimator for Banner Truck & Trailer Sales. He was serving the second year of his first term as an Oakland City Councilman. He also served as a volunteer fireman for the Oakland City Fire Department for about 15 years.

He was born on
August 1, 1973 in Oakland City, In. to Ronald & Becky (Douglas) Poe. His father preceded him in death in 1983.

Scot is survived by his wife, Valerie (Taylor) Poe of Oakland City; son, Alex Poe at home; mother & stepfather, Becky & Donald Graves of Francisco; grandparents, June & Gerald Douglas of Ft. Branch; 2 brothers, Matt (Julie) Poe of Oakland City and Brian (Jessica) Poe of Francisco; and 3 nieces and 2 nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on
Saturday November 28, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City with the Rev. Matt Malin officiating. Burial will be at the Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City. Visitation will be from 3 until 8 P.M. on Friday and from 8 A.M. until service time on Saturday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home.
