Esther L. Meny, 72, passed away Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 at her home in Haubstadt. 

Born Oct. 31, 1937 in Evansville, she was the daughter of Valentine and Cecilia (Weber) Hertel.

She resided in Haubstadt for 50 years.  Esther retired from Meny’s Gas and Appliance.

She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Esther enjoyed coin collecting, camping, loved outdoor recreation and spending time with her family.

 Esther is survived by her husband of 51 years, Eugene Meny; three daughters, Janet Skelton (Curtis) of Elberfeld, Joan Nurrenbern (Joe) of Francisco, Angela Kares (Ted, Jr.) of Evansville; son, Gary Meny (Michelle) of Dubois;  seven grandchildren, Harlee and Shelby Skelton, Victor, Rena and Bridget Nurrenbern, Dalton and Haleigh Meny;great-granddaughter, Kyla Jo Blankenberger; brother, Ed Hertel of Evansville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister,  Virginia Welborn; and a nephew, Donnie Welborn.

 A Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Tony Ernst as the celebrant.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 Visitation will be may 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Wade Funeral Home with a Rosary service at 5:30 p.m.
