William Robert Richards, 90, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009 at St.John'sRegionalHealthCenter in Springfield, Mo.
Born Sept. 29, 1919 in PikeCounty, he was the son of Joseph and LeeEtta (Luttrull) Richards.
He was married to Alma Edna Lytle in Evansville. He was a member and deacon in the Church of Jesus
Christ. He was a former Princeton police officer. He retired from the Rock Island
Arsenal in Iowa. He was a U.S. Army WWII veteran and fought in the
Battle of the Bulge.
Survivors include his wife Alma; son, Jake
of Davenport, Iowa; daughter, Debra Walker of Ava, Mo.; three sisters, MedrithMessinger of Montpelier, Iowa, LavedaCargal of Worthington, Lee Myers of Owensville, Regina Hacker of
Davenport; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces
He was preceded in death by his parents;
two brothers, Carl and Delbert Richards; and sister, Mary Peterson.
Funeral services will be
at Saturday at Clinkingbeard
Funeral Home in Ava, Mo. Burial will be in the AvaCemetery with military honors.
