Darrell G. Corn, 81, of Oakland City, passed away Monday, Dec. 21, 2009 at Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg.

Born April 7, 1928 in Francisco, he was the son of Sampson and Mary (Nolan) Corn.

He retired after 38 years from Whirlpool Corp. in Evansville. He was a member of American Legion Post 256 in Oakland City and was a WWII  U.S. Air Force veteran.

Survivors include wife, Margaret “Peg” Corn; son, David (Sheila) Corn of Winslow; sisters, Virginia Young of Winslow and Ruth Miller of Wabash.

He was preceded in death by first wife, Lois Corn in 1989; son, Dale “Tiny” Corn in 1990; and brother, William Wallace Corn.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009 at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City with the Rev. Darin D. Nossett officiating. Burial will be in Williams Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. until the service hour on Thursday at the chapel.
