Barbara Jean Hightower, 83 of Princeton, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.

Barbara was born Jan. 29, 1926 in Owensville to Floyd and Ruth (Richardson) Mounts.

She lived in the Princeton area since 1946 and retired from Potter & Brumfield in 1993.

She is survived by her two daughters, Karen (Bob) Waters of Newburgh, Theresa (Kevin) Liddle of Mt. Carmel, Ill.; five grandchildren, Brian Waters and Mark Waters both of Newburgh, Nichole (Aaron) Loudermilk and Stephanie (Justin) Keepes all of Mt. Carmel, Travis Miller of Princeton; six great-grandchildren, Aiden Waters, Rayce, Shade, and Journey Loudermilk, Cohen Peter and Cade Keepes; and a sister Violet Mounts Feaster of Brownsburg. She also leaves behind many close and special friends, including Juanita Jackson of Princeton.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Hightower in 1989; a son, Dennis Hightower in 2006;  and brother, James.

 Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28, 2009 at the graveside in the Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton.

Family and friends will meet at Colvin Funeral Home and went in procession to the cemetery.

Visitation was 4-8 p.m. on Sunday at Colvin Funeral Home.
