Vera L. Ham age 88 passed away Saturday January 9, 2010 at the Petersburg Health Care Center in Petersburg. She was born in Pike County IN on March 5, 1921 to James and Grace (Masters) Shepherd. She was a homemaker and had lived in Pike County all of her life. She was a member of the Mission of Faith Church in Glezen.

Vera is survived by a daughter; Marcia (Cecil) Grubb of Washington, a son; Don (Marilyn) Hamm of Cato, IN, three sisters; Janice Johnson and Betty Purl of Petersburg and Norma McGillem of Oakland City, a brother; Odis Shepherd of Oakland City, four grandchildren; Nick Grubb of Otwell, Donna Burns of Cato, Jonathan Ham and Mary Dodson both of San Antonio, TX, seven great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Chester J. Ham in 2003 and a son; John Ham of San Antonio, TX in 2009.

Funeral Services will be
10 a.m. Tuesday Jan 12, 2010 at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City with the Rev. Jack Hamm officiating. Burial will follow in the Cloin Cemetery in Glezen. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home.
