Doris Lea Hull, 87, of Mt. Carmel, passed away Friday Jan. 8, 2010 at Wabash General Hospital in Mt. Carmel, Ill.

Born Feb. 2, 1922 in Cowling, Ill., she was the daughter of Everett and Lula Mae (Clark) Higginson.

She married William Hull on Oct. 19, 1939 in Princeton.

Mrs. Hull loved to paint, crochet, knitting and bowling. She enjoyed traveling with her husband from Illinois to Florida in there RV. She retired from Snap-On Tools in 1971, where she worked as a machine operator for 17 years.  She also was a member of the First Apostolic Church in Mt. Carmel.

Survivors include two daughters, Claudia and husband Gene of Hickory Ky.,  Sharolene and husband Bob of Mt. Carmel;  brother, Jessee and wife Joan Higginson of Arthur, Ill.; two sisters, Carol and husband Bill Wilson of Carolton, Ohio, Retta and husband Don Rich of Evansville; six grandchildren, Debbie  and husband Mike Fry of Ohio, Diana and husband Ronnie Harrell of Illinois, Doug Knight of Indiana, Darla and husband Tony Enderle of Missouri, Kelly and husband Jeff Alexander of Kentucky,Billie and husband Tom Watson of Tennessee; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hull; her parents; two brothers, Calvin and Vernon “Butch” Higginson; and sister, Thelma Compton.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday Jan. 12, 2010 at the chapel of Short Funeral Home in Mt. Carmel, Ill. Burial will be at a later date.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the service hour Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010 at Short Funeral Home in Mt. Carmel.
