Chester Frank "Jack" Selfe, 91, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 18, 2010 at Oakview Heights Continuous Care and Rehab Center in Mt. Carmel, IL. He was born on October 20, 1918 to Dessie (Kendall) and Ted Selfe in Hazelton, Indiana. He graduated from Hazleton High School. After serving in the Army Air Corp in WWII, he returned and married Virginia Lorraine Riley in Owensville, Indiana on Feb. 3, 1946.

Jack spent most of his life working for the A&P grocery chain. His lifelong hobby was fishing, preferably for walleye in
Minnesota. He was always a Princeton Tigers and Indiana University basketball fan. In his late years, he loved watching his Cubs play. First General Baptist Church in Princeton was his church home for almost fifty years.

Jack is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years, Lorraine; three children, Susan (Greg) Goodson of Mt. Carmel, Jane Easley of Princeton, and Ed Selfe of Greencastle, IN; grandchildren, Angi (Jim) Woll, Courtney (Drew) Martin, Branson Easley, and Katie (Justin) Beadles; great grandchildren, Spencer and Cameron Woll, Matthew, Donavon, and Draven Easley, and Zachary Beadles; 2 sisters, Norma Lee Sullivan of Princeton and Helen Johnson of Greenfield, IN; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Betty Mair of Mt. Carmel and sister-in-law, Pauline Jaquess of Princeton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Warren Selfe; and sister, Eloise Bishop.

Funeral Services will be held on
Wednesday, January 20, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with the Pastor John Stepp officiating. Burial will be at the Columbia "White" Church Cemetery in Princeton, In. Visitation will be from 11 A.M. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
