Margaret Mae (McCombs) Jones, 93, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at The Heart Hospital of Deaconess Gateway.

She was born on August 16, 1916, to Leroy and Ola Faye McCombs in Marion, Ohio.

Margaret was a member of the Owensville United Methodist Church. She was a 4-H leader, raised and sold registered dogs, enjoyed gardening, canning and loved flowers. After her husband, John, died in 1984, she continued to run the family farm.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Elveda O'Neal of Lexington, Ky., and Claire Sue (William) Hertel of Chandler; grandchildren, Giselle (Steve) Christmas, Marveda (Willie) Rudd, Stephen (Trish) Greenwell, Mark Greenwell, Vanessa (Leroy) Schafer, Veronica (Tony) Alms, John (Gina) Hertel, Margaret (Mohammad) Mohtati, Michael Hertel, Regina (Jeff) Barnes and Jeanie (Blake) Schaefer; 31 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren. She loved and enjoyed her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John O. Jones; grandson, William J. Hertel; brothers, Donald, Robert, John, Bernard, Gale and Dale McCombs; and son-in-law, Thomas O'Neal.

Services 11 a.m. Saturday at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery. The Rev. Linda Lawler will officiate.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
