Lee Louis Becher, 84, Bicknell, died at 3:31 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.

 

He was born on Sept. 8, 1925 in St. Menard.

 

He was a supervisor for Vincennes Steel and a World War II Navy veteran.

 

He was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1157, French Club, Elks Lodge and American Legion.

 

Surviving are two daughters, Diana Fidler and her husband, Dale, of Princeton, and Pat Becher of Bicknell; a son, Mark Becher and his wife,Susan, of Bicknell; daughter-in-law, Sara Becher of Henryville; three brothers, Frank Becher of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Bill and Donnie Becher, both of Vincennes; four sisters, Germaine Graman and Judy Doyle of Vincennes, Becky Price of Chrisney and Nancy Lasher of Jasper; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Becher and Frances (Meyer) Becher; his wife, Joan (Merkley) Becher; one son, Mike Becher; and a sister,Virlie McMann.

 

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church with the Rev. Jason Gries officiating. Interment will be in Bicknell Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum.

 

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Fredrick & Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes, Bicknell Chapel, 109 E. Sixth St.
