Thurman Willis McGuyer, 88, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville

He was born Oct. 9, 1921 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky

He was a lifetime member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 136 and retired in 1987 after working 47 years through them.

Survivors include his wife, Rita (Daffron) McGuyer; five sons, Leon (Jeannie) McGuyer, Lynn McGuyer, Steve (Denise) McGuyer all of Evansville, Terry (Donna) McGuyer of Purvis, Miss., Thurman “BuckyMcGuyer II of Hazleton; a daughter, Latisha Jewel of Vincennes; two sisters, Nettie (Ben) Todd of Evansville, Thelma Louise “City” Hammers of Lewisberg, Ky.; a brother, Thomas E. Jr. (Dean) McGuyer of Lewisberg, Ky.; brother-in-law, Harold “Rocky” Phelps of Evansville; sister-in-law, Faye Junkin of Vincennes; brother-in-law/sister-in-law, Art (Jerri) Daffron of Nebo, Ky.; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; very best friends, Barbara Lacy, Angie Wilhite, Kerry Braun, Kim Blaize and James Hammers.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Faye Phelps, Dorothy Piper, Genevieve Hagan, William Richard “Jack” McGuyer, Hilda McGuyer; and a granddaughter, Corissa BreAnn McGuyer in 1999.

 Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. (CDT) Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Steve Frederick officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. (CDT) Tuesday at Miller Cemetery in Cleaton, Ky.

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. (CDT) Monday at Colvin Funeral Home.
