Robert E. Brazelton, 89, of Boca Raton , Fla., passed away Monday, April 19, 2010.

Born Jan. 14, 1921 in Princeton, he graduated from Hanover College in Indiana with a degree in biology. He was the senior class president and a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.  He did post-graduate work at Indiana University in the School of Dentistry.  Early in his career, he modeled for Esquire Magazine and worked as an actor in Los Angeles.  In 1945, he joined Eli Lilly and Co. in Indianapolis, where he was personnel, marketing and the international division.  He retired after a 35-year career at Lilly’s.  He and his wife, Marcia, retired to Safety Harbor, Fla. in 1982.  Bob relocated to Boca Raton, Florida three years ago to be close to his family.

He was a member of the Masonic Order, a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite.  He was an active member of North Bay Community Church in Clearwater , Fla. and was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis.

An avid golfer, Bob played with his church golf league and with his close friend, Ruth Francis, and he continued playing golf every chance he could after he moved to Boca Raton He was a philanthropist, continuing to support Hanover College, Lambda Chi Alpha as well as numerous charities.  He lived life to the fullest every day, enjoying family, friends and all of his favorite activities and interests.

He is survived by a daughter, Patricia Lynn Brazelton Armstrong, and son-in-law, Robert Dickson Armstrong of Boca Raton , Fla.; stepson Timothy Turber of Ohio; two step-grandsons; one stepgreat-granddaughter, niece Marcia Ellen Riley of Indiana; nephews Steve Wiltsie of Indiana , Malcolm Brazelton of California, Osborne Turner Brazelton III of Mexico; seven grandchildren, including Jordon David Armstrong of Boca Raton; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death  by his wife of 44 years, Marcia Jordon Skelton Brazelton; his second wife, Vera Mae Solomon Brazelton; brother, Osborne Turner Brazelton II; and  parents, Dr. and Mrs. Osborne Turner Brazelton.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at North Bay Community Church in Clearwater, FL.
