Trudy Susanne Strickland, 58 of Somerville, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at home.

Born Aug. 11, 1951 in Patoka, she was the daughter of Evelyn and Chester Mitchell. 

She was previously employed at Hansen Corp., GCARC, Red & White and most currently, Transitional Services, Inc (TSI).  She was activewith her husband in the Southwestern Indiana District Nazarene Work and Witness Team, traveling each year doing mission work.

Trudy was a majorette in the Princeton High School marching band and graduated from Princeton High School in 1969.

Survivors include her husband of 22 years, Robert “Bob”  Strickland; four daughters, Tammy (Binkley) Wright of Smyrna, Tenn., Amy (Binkley) Deig of Mt. Vernon, Ind.; Robyn and Gina Strickland both students at East Gibson School Corp. and living at home; one son, Chris Binkley of Princeton; two stepchildren, Lori (Strickland) Nossett of Oakland City, David Strickland of Roanoke, Va.; eight grandchildren, Chris, Kaleb and Casey Nossett, Beth and Abby Strickland, Seth Goebel and Baylee and Sydney Deig.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Steve Mitchell; and her parents, Evelyn and Chester (Chet) Mitchell.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday April 24, 2010 at Mackey Church Of The Nazarene with the Rev. Darin D.Nossett, Rev. Mat Malin and Rev. Chip Bullock officiating. Burial will be in Townsley Cemetery near Mackey.

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m.  until the service hour Saturday at the church. Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
