Larry Franklin Alexander, 73, of Bruceville, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Oak Village Nursing Home.

Born Jan. 2, 1937 in Knox County, he was son of Helen (Stinett) Devillez.

He was married on July 3, 1998, to Sharon (Boyles) Stephens.

He was employed in maintenance at the Edwardsport power plant for 18 years and retired from Gibson Generating Station after 18 years.

He was a member of Bicknell First Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon and trustee. He was also a member of the Elks. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the Vincennes VFW post and the Edwardsport Masonic Lodge.

He cared for his first wife, Toby, during her illness. He was a loving, caring person who would help other people.  He loved to golf.

Survivors include his wife;  two sons, Michael Alexander of Vincennes, Matthew (Jamie) Alexander of Holland, Mich.; stepchildren, Sherry Stephens of Bruceville, Michael (Tammy) Stephens of Collins, Ga.; grandchildren, Kacie, Drew, Matti Alexander; and step-grandchildren, Candace and Adam Stephens.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and first wife, Toby (Saucerman) Alexander.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home in Bruceville, with Pastor Seth Alexander will officiating. Burial will be in Edwardsport IOOF Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
