Lonnie Wayne Hall, 58, of Oakland City, passed away Friday, June 18, 2010 at home.

As a young man, he worked for the Gibson County Highway Dept. and was staunch Democrat. But the job he loved most was caring for the elderly. Although he had no children of his own, his many nieces and nephews and his dog, Pepper became his children and he loved them one and all.

He will be remembered always as a wonderful loving brother, fun loving friend, and caring caregiver.  He will be sorely missed and truly touched the lives and hearts of so many.

Survivors include brothers, Bill (Diane) Hall and Jesse (Ruth) Hall of Hazleton, Pete Hall of Oakland City, Marshall (Rhonda) Shaeffer and Steve (Linda) Hall of Princeton; sisters, Marlene Ashley and Teresa Sartore (Joe Rollins) of Oakland City, Martha Schaffer (Robert Wirth) of Union, Ruth Greenwell, Sarah Hall and Tabitha (Jay) Martin of Princeton and Cindi (David) Miller of Owensville.

He was preceded in death by parents Bonnie Hall-Whitehouse-Underhill and Simon Hall; and two brothers, Monroe and Kent Hall.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 23 2010 at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City with Brother George Bruce officiating. Burial will be in Hazleton Community Cemetery.

Visitation will be 8:30 a.m.until the service hour on Wednesday.
