Fred W. Kell, 83, of Oakland City, passed away Sunday July 4, 2010 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City.

Born Jan. 13, 1927 in Gibson County, he was the son of Raymond and Esther (Houchins) Kell.  

He was retired from Francisco Lumber and Hardware, managed Kell Feed Store for 20 years and worked at Wilder’s Texaco Station.

Survivors include his wife Ruth (McCord) Kell of Oakland City; daughter, Dorinne (Gerald) Harper of Ohatchee, Ala.;stepchildren, Gerald Jr., Gary, Gordon, Frances, Sandra, Randi Harper, Kenneth Moran;brother, Sam (Donna) Kell of Oakland City;sisters, Amy Tschappler of Glendale, Ariz., Aline (Miguel) Taitana of San Antonio, Texas, Lena (Glen) Boswell of Harrison, Ark. two grandchildren, Tiffany Giles, Christopher Ising; great-granddaughter, Abbey  Giles; and 15 step grandchildren;

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jim, Raymond, Edwin, John, Louis; sister, Dora Anthony; and son, Anthony R.Kell in Sept. 15, 2008.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel with  the Rev. Ron Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. until the service hour on Saturday at the chapel
