Raymond August Conrad, 91, of Francisco, passed away Thursday July 22, 2010 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville

He was born on April 17, 1919 in Mackey, to August and Hester Conrad. 

He was the youngest of three children.  He often spoke of his childhood growing up on the family farm.  As an adult, he farmed with his father.

 Raymond enjoyed farming and gardening.  He was able to maintain a garden in his back yard until he turned 90 years old.  He loved the town of Francisco where he lived with his wife, Velma since 1963.

 Raymond served in World War II in the U.S. Air Force as an airplane mechanic.

 Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Velma; nieces, Janice Weightman of Evansville, Carole Willis of Oakland City, Jenny Beloat of Haubstadt; and a nephew, Ronnie Anderson of Owensville.

He was preceding in death by his parents, August and Hester Conrad; and sisters, Geneva Allen of Evansville and Frances Anderson of Owensville.

 Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2010 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City with Rev. Rick Lance officiating.  Burial will be at Forsythe Cemetery west of Oakland City

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the service hour on Monday at the funeral home.  VFW Post 1147 will conduct military graveside services.
