Harlen "Bud" E. Hacker, 86, of Fort Branch, passed away July 17, 2010 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton.

Born Dec. 6, 1923, he was the son of George and Josephine Hacker.

He was a retired rural carrier from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the Philippines and was a life member of V. F. W. Post 2714. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he served in the past as an elder.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ruth (Dixon) Hacker of Fort Branch; daughter, Brenda and husband George Ankenbrand of Fort Branch; son, David and wife Elsie Hacker of Evansville; grandchildren, John, Brian, Paul, Jennifer Ankenbrand, Jessica and husband Dan Anderson; great-granddaughter, Emily Anderson; stepgrandchildren, Brandy and husband Keith Acton, Adrienne and husband Michael Burdick, Kelvyn and Kaleigh Acton, Cameron and Peyton Burdick; stepsons, Ronald Harvey, Dennis Harvey; sister, Helena Morrison of Evansville; and brother Robert Hacker of Minniapolis Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Roger D. Hacker in 2007; sisters, Viola Eisenhut, Leona Oexman, Marie Oexman; brothers, Edwin, Ray and Milford Hacker.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Evansville with the Rev. Kirk Horstmeyer officiating. Burial will be at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Monday July 19, 2010 and 9-9:40 a.m. on Tuesday at the Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch.
