John L. Key, Jr., 93, passed July 23, 2010.

Born Aug. 12, 1917 in Evansville, he was the son of John L. Key, Sr. and Mary Matilda (Willett) Key.

He retired as master sergeant in the U.S. Army and was an NCO veteran. He was a  54 year member of the New Palestine Masonic Lodge 404, F&AM, a 38 year member of the American Legion and a member of VFW Post 7119 of Lawrence.

Survivors include his wife, Mary A. Shadigian Key; children, Sandra Key, John Lawrence Key, Charles William Key; a sister, Patricia C. Jenkins; a granddaughter; two great-grandsons; and several stepchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Mary Elizabeth Key and Mary Jane Key; and brothers, Monroe Key and Charles Key.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Flanner and Buchanan Washington Park East Funeral Center in Indianapolis.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday at and on Tuesday one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
