William H. Boedeker, 89, of Oakland City, passed away Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home.

 Born Aug. 26, 1920 near Mackey, he was the son of Henry and Sophie (Jeide) Boedeker.

He was a member of St. John’s Church in Buckskin.

He was a farmer his entire life except for time spent in the military on the islands of the southwest Pacific in the U.S. Army in the Signal Corps during World War II. He was member of Oakland City American Legion Post 256 and Princeton V.F.W Post 1147.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mary (Bigham) Boedeker; daughters, Suzanne (Ron) Thorne of Winslow, Joanne Radigan of Princeton;   sisters: Ruth King of Owensville, Elsie Smith of Buckskin; grandchildren, Laura (John) Norris of Oakland City, Melissa (Walt) Richardson of Sullivan, Michael Thorne of Winslow; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents; and an infant son 1950.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010 at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City with the Rev. Frank Sapp officiating. Burial will be at St.John’s Cemetery in Buckskin.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 8 a.m. until the service hour on Wednesday at the chapel.
