Rodney T. Feldman, 79, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Lifepath Hospice House in Ruskin, Fla. after a short illness with Leukemia.

Born Feb. 13, 1931 near Mt. Carmel, Ill., he was the son of the Delmar and Vera (White) Feldman.

He was a school teacher from 1962 to 1986 with most of those years spent teaching at Francisco Elementary school.  He married Betsy Barnett on June 21, 1958, at Mt. Olive General Baptist Church in Cato.  They resided in Oakland City from 1960 to 1986 where upon retirement they moved to Florida.  During their retirement they traveled extensively and enjoyed square dancing. 

Rodney served during the Korean conflict in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955 as a court reporter and instrument instructor.  He was a graduate of Long Beach City College, Oakland City University and Indiana State University.  He was a member of Oakland City Masonic Lodge 467.

Rodney is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betsy (Barnett) Feldman of Sun City Center, Fla.; his daughter, Becky Deener (Keith) of Newburgh; granddaughter, Brittany Deener of Newburgh; sister, Judith Voyles (David) of Loveland, Ohio; sister-in-law, Judi Feldman of Fountain Valley, Calif.; brothers-in-law, Franklin Marshall Barnett of Otwell, Tommy Barnett (Patty) of Cato; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ronald Mac Feldman.
