Paul W. Field, 84, passed away Friday, Sept. 24, 2010 at the Transcendent Healthcare of Owensville.

Born Oct. 15, 1925 in Owensville, he was the son of Erastus Emory Field and Martha Fannie (Clark) Field.

Paul retired from PSI Duke Energy and farming. He was a member of the First General Baptist Church of Owensville where he was a deacon for 55 years. He was also a member of the Poseyville Masonic Lodge No. 632 and the Owensville High School class of 1944. He served in the United States Navy.

 He his survived by his wife of 62 years, Virginia (Maddex) Field; two daughters, Martha (Robert) Mounts of Bowling Green, Ky., Pauletta (Michael) Hillebrandt of Owensville; two sons, John Field of Owensville, Don (Betty) Field of Greenwood; six grandchildren, Bobbi Miller, Traci McDonald, Jared, Preston, Isaac and Ben Field; two great-grandchildren, John and Abigail McDonald; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Alice Spindler; and two brothers, Emory and Ermal Field.

 Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 27, 2010 at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville with the Rev. Bob Douglas officiating.  Burial will be in the Owensville Cemetery where he will be taken via a horse-drawn cassion. Military graveside services will be conducted by American Legion Post 51 and VFW Post 1147.

 Visitation was 3-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
