Christopher R. “Chris” Gonzales, 26, of Colorado Springs, Colo., formerly of Oakland City passed away Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010 near Pueblo, Colo.

Born Aug. 6, 1984 in Oakland City, he was a 2003 graduate of Wood Memorial High School and a 2007 graduate of Indiana State earning his B.S degree in safety management. He was a member of  Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity at ISU.

He was employed by the Flat Iron Co. in Colorado.  

Survivors include his mother, Cathy Gonzales-Drach of Oakland City; his father,  Chuck Gonzales of Tomah, Wis.; brothers, Carlos (Amanda) Gonzales and Charlie Gonzales both of Oakland City; grandparents, Frank and Gerrie Gonzales of Oakland City; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010 at the Oakland City Church of The Nazarene with the Rev. Darin D. Nossett officiating. Burial will be in Montgomery Cemetery.

Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Friday at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel, and from 11:30 a.m. until the service hour on Saturday at the church.
