Stella Delores (Mosby) Ice, 78 of Giro, Indiana left her earthly home to live eternally in heaven’s paradise on Thursday, September 16, 2010. Born on January 3, 1932, Stella was the tenth child born to Adolph and Ida Mae Mosby. Stella grew up in Otwell and graduated from Otwell High School class of 1950. On December 8, 1951, she married James Wesley Ice and they moved to their lifelong home in Giro, east of Hazleton. There they raised four boys, gardened, and farmed. In the 70’s and 80’s they were avid parade goers with their black horse, George and buggy. Most recently, they attended Dinky’s auctions every Friday night. Stella was a very gifted cook, never knew a stranger, and will be greatly missed for her unbiased care, kindness, love, and also for her "gift of gab". (She seemed to always have something on her mind to talk about.) Her family was very close and dear to her, because of the unconditional love and concern she presented them daily and how she guided them to implement that love and concern into their own personal lives.

She was a member of the Mt. Olive Church in
Mt. Olympus as well as attending the New Life Church of the Nazarene in Princeton where her nephew, Gary Arnold preaches.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, James W. Ice of Giro; 4 sons and daughters-in-law, Michael James and Ann Ice of Mt. Olympus, Terral Wayne and Judy Ice of Giro, David Wesley and Joni Ice of Petersburg and Ronald Alan and Scarlet Ice of Giro; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; brother, Joe (Jeanie) Mosby of Algiers; 2 sisters, Elizabeth Watkins of Mooresville and Mildred Garland of Petersburg; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Stella was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Ida Mae Mosby; 4 brothers, Roy, Clarence, Bud and Bernard Mosby; 2 sisters, Vivian Fife and Edna Cockerham; and a granddaughter, Emily Brooke (Ice) Griswold in 2007.

Funeral Services will be held at
2 PM Tuesday September 21, 2010 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Rev. Gary Arnold officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Mt. Olympus. Visitation will be from 3 until 8 P.M. on Monday at Colvin Funeral Home.
