Velma Lorine Conrad, 86, of Francisco, passed away Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 at Good Samaritan Home in Oakland City

 Velma was born Jan. 13, 1924 in Gibson County, to Daniel and Cumi Hedges.

She attended the Francisco United Methodist Church.  She was a lifetime resident of Gibson County.  She graduated from Columbia High School and Lockyear Business College in Evansville.  She worked at Defense Plants during WW II, Kraft Foods in Evansville and Mid-States in Princeton.

 She is survived by her brothers, Warren Hedges of Oakland City, Harold Hedges of Evansville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her  parents; husband of 58 years, Raymond Conrad on July 22, 2010; sisters, Mary Corn, Edith Weber; and brothers, Francis and Hamilton Hedges. 

 Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with the Rev. Rick Lance officiating. Burial will be at the Forsythe Cemetery west of Oakland City

Visitation will be from 9 a.m.  until the service hour on Saturday at the funeral home.
