Effie Lou French, 86 passed away on November 14, 2010 in Indianapolis. She will be forever loved and missed by her sister Nancy (Robert) Burton, Children-James and his wife Kim Hage, Pam and her husband Ron Sentman, George and his wife Terri Hage; Step-son-Doug and his wife Paula French; Grandchildren-Brian (Kelly), Paul (Sarah), Keith (Krista), Stephen, Tim, Christina (Jacob Stilabower), Andrew, and Jeremy Hage and Brian and Matt King; Great Granddaughters-Aleasa and Lila; Nephew-Brad (Marilyn) Burton; and Niece-Cindy (Willis) Ross.

Effie Crawford was born in
Princeton, Indiana on October 23, 1924. She graduated from Princeton High School in 1942 and attended Anderson University where she majored in education. She subsequently attended Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing and became an RN in 1948. She started her nursing career at Cook County Hospitalís Infectious Disease Unit, Chicago and in 1961 became Director of Nursing at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton. She retired in 1984.

Effie loved to cook, was a voracious reader, and enjoyed playing bridge and working crossword puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her parents James and Isabel (Weisgerber) Crawford, husband of 23 years George "Barney" French and brother Hubert (Dorcas) Crawford.

All who knew and loved Effie are invited to Colvin Funeral Home,
Princeton, Indiana on Saturday, November 20, 2010 from 9 until 11 AM for visitation followed by a memorial service at 11 AM with Father Tony Ernst officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch.
