Jimmie L. “Jim” Hall, 78, of Martinsville, passed away Friday, Nov. 26, 2010 at Select Specialty Hospital in Beech Grove.

Born March 2, 1932 in Princeton, he was the son of Frank and Lillian (Montgomery) Hall.

Jim was a 1951 graduate of Princeton High School. He served in the U.S. Army. Jim married Lorraine L. Clem on Nov. 27, 1952. He retired from the maintenance department at Detroit Diesel Allison in 1992.  He was a member of Liberty Christian Church in Martinsville.

Jim umpired Little League baseball for many years.  He was a high school basketball referee for many years and refereed wheelchair basketball for the Indianapolis Olympians.  Jim also was a referee for the Martinsville Junior Football League for years.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; a daughter, Zoe Ann Kirk and husband Rusty of Martinsville; one son, Randall Hall of Princeton; two grandsons, Joshua and Brandon Kirk; a sister-in-law, Audine Hall of Martinsville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charles Hall; and a sister, Virginia Kendle.

Funeral services will be at 7  p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010 at Liberty Christian Church in Martinsville with the Rev. Stephen Johnson and the Rev. Norman Able officiating.

Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the church prior to the service.

Graveside services and military honors will be at 11 a.m. (central) Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010 at Fairview Cemetery in Princeton.
