Jesse “J.D.” King, 83, of Princeton, passed away Friday, Nov. 19, 2010 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton

He was born July 4, 1927 in Kentucky to Elder and Katherine King.

He was a retired postal worker and a veteran of WW II, serving in the U.S. Army.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two dogs along with being outdoors.

J.D. is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary King of Princeton; only son and daughter-in-law, Bobby (Waughneta) King of Princeton; two grandchildren, Jamie (Jason) Slinker of Patoka and Brooke (Brad) Bane of Princeton; three great grandchildren, Riley Slinker, Lexi and Quinn Bane; a sister, Marjorie Holderbaugh of Danville, Ill.; a brother, Whalen King of Patoka and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 22, 2010 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Rev. Craig Duke officiating.  Burial will be at Shiloh Cemetery near Hazleton

Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Colvin Funeral Home.
