Estella C. Elpers, 101, passed away Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.

Born July 5, 1909 in Mariah Hill, she was the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth (Heim) Yellig.

Survivors include by four sons, William (Joyce) Elpers of Louisville, Ky., Thomas Elpers of Spartanburg, S.C., Joseph Daniel (Vicki) Elpers of Haubstadt, Paul (Martha) Elpers of Evansville; a brother, Earl Yellig of Evansville; a sister, Virginia Fowler of Evansville; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and seven great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clem Elpers in February 1999; a son, Robert Elpers in 1977; a daughter, Alberta Eaton in 2001; three brothers, Norbert, Vernon “Leroy,” Jerome Yellig; and two sisters, Helen Neale and Dorothy Meredith.

A mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with Father Tony Ernst the celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Stodghill Funeral Home on Ind. 168 West in Fort Branch where a rosary will be recited by the church parish at 7:30 p.m.
