Doris Maxine McCandless, 81, of Winslow, passed away Thursday, Dec.16, 2010 at home.

Born Feb. 12, 1929 in Winslow, she was the daughter of Wesley and Helen (Thurman) Bolin.

She was a member of Muren Church Of God and Women’s Missionary Society. She was employed in the cafeteria for 15 years at Pike Central Middle and High School.

Survivors include her husband, Frank “Jocko” McCandless of Winslow;  daughter, Vonda Kay McCandless of Winslow; sons, Bart (Brenda F.) McCandless of Haubstadt, Brad (Brenda L.) McCandless of Princeton,  Mark (Angie) McCandless of Petersburg; brothers, Bud (Frieda) Bolin, Gene Bolin and Bill (Jeanie) Bolin of Winslow;  sisters, Louise “Tootsie” Virden of Oakland City, Margaret (Bob) Kirby, Fay (George) Head and Susie (Mike) Norrick of Winslow;  10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great greatgrandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Randall Kent McCandless in 1977; and a sister, Patty Skelton.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. (easter) Monday, Dec. 20, 2010 at Muren Church Of God with the Rev. Dusty McCandless and the Rev. Clint Woolsey officiating. Burial will follow in Williams Cemetery near Oakland City.

Visitation was 3-7 p.m. (eastern) Sunday at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland city and 9 a.m. until the service hour on Monday at the church.
