Elaine P. Memmer, 70, passed away Friday Dec. 31, 2010 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.

She was born Dec. 4, 1940 in Gibson County to Thomas and Velma (Wilhite) Beasley.

Elaine was a homemaker and lived in the Mackey area for more than 50 years, moving there from Oakland City.  She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Oakland City. She enjoyed participating in church activities.  She enjoyed being with her family, going shopping with her daughter, Lisa, going to yard sales, and the companionship of her dog, Nutmeg.

She is survived by her six children, Norman Memmer, of  Mackey, Mark (Julie) Memmer, of Buckskin, Wayne (Julie) Memmer, of Lynnville, Darrin Memmer, of Virginia, David (Alechia) Memmer, of Oakland City, Lisa Memmer, of  Mackey, son-in-law, Phil Young, of Oakland City; two brothers, Lowell (Shirley) Beasley, of Huntingburg, Stan (Charlotte) Beasley, of West Virginia; and five grandchildren, Erica, Jakob, Ryan, Chris and Josiah.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donnie Wayne Memmer in 2002; and a daughter, Donna Young.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at the Providence Church Cemetery in rural Francisco with Rev. Pat McCandless officiating.  Burial will follow the services.  There will be no visitation Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City is handling the arrangements.
